Facts about 10/40 Windows
THE 10/40 WINDOWS” is an imaginary window between 10 degree to 40 degree north of the equator stretching from West Africa through Asia, ( North Africa, Middle East, Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, Malaysia, Cambodia, China, Thailand and several Eurasian countries ) There are 62 Nations in the 10/40 Windows.
95% of the unreached people groups of the world live in the 10/40 Windows. (An “unreached people group” is a segment of the population to which because of too few missionaries, the Gospel cannot spread along natural lines without encountering barriers of understanding, language, social hierarchy, politics, culture, history, geography, prejudice, etc. They have no community of Christians able to lead them to salvation or sometimes even to a slight knowledge of Jesus Christ).
It contains over 70% of the world’s people but only 8% of missionaries laboring. The Church is only sending about 4,000 of its over 410, 000 missionaries to this area.
Almost all of the governments in this Window are hostile to the Christian message. Poverty, starvation and political problems are daily occurrences in most of these countries.
Within this 10/40 Windows, there are more than a billion Muslims, nearly a billion Hindus and over six hundred million Buddhist.
Of the 55 countries of the world that are considered “Un-evangelized”…… 97% of these are in this window. More than 8 out of 10 of poorest of the poor live in the Window. Over 2.4 billion people… which is… 40% of the world’s population, live on less than $. 40 per day, in this window.
In this window about 10. 700 children are born and 1, 400 people die each hour without ever hearing the gospel.The majority of people in this world are children….3 out of 4 are hungry.
Over 100 million children are victims of child labor.In Hinduism 33 million gods are worshiped, and 200 million cows are considered holy.
